Ever thought about joining the MCS SADD Chapter?

SADD, otherwise known as Students Against Drinking and Driving, is just one of the many clubs that MCS has to offer.  The MCS SADD Chapter is in its seventh year of operation under the leadership of Ms Brown and Ms Roach, and over the last seven years has grown remarkably in size to include several students from grades 7 through 12.  All students who are a part of the MCS SADD Chapter are united in being "student leaders dedicated to stopping impaired driving".  These dedicated students attempt to stop impaired driving by planning a variety of awareness activities in both our school and community.  Past activities have included :

  • Checkstops in conjunction with our local RCMP Detachment
  • Mocktail sales
  • BYOB (Bring Your Own Banana)
  • Liquor Bag Decorating
  • Candy Grams
  • Red Ribbon Campaigns
  • Mock accidents
  • Amazing Halloween Race
  • Speakers (Kevin Brooks, Shayne Stoll, Irene Ricard, Mitch Dorge)
  • Attending the Provincial SADD Conference

In recognition of the MCS SADD Chapter's hard work in stopping impaired driving, they were recently awarded the Nicole Nakonechny Memorial Award for being the MOST ACTIVE SADD CHAPTER in the PROVINCE!  This was the third time in just four years that the MCS SADD Chapter has won this prestigious title.  Here we are receiving the award:

Hope to see you soon!
