Cafeteria Use
- The cafeteria is designed as a study hall, lunch room and a place for quiet conversation and relaxation. It is not a café or a hangout or a place for rowdy behavior. Cafeteria privileges are offered only to students and staff of the Comprehensive School.
- The cafeteria should be kept clean and neat, deserving the same respect and dignity as other areas of the school.
- The SRG maintains, loads and looks after the vending machines. The cafeteria personnel does not clean up bottles, trash and mess left by the students. Such cleaning creates an increase in the cost of operation and is reflected in the price of food to the students.
- Any custodian in the school is responsible for discipline in the same way as is any classroom teacher. They are to be treated with the same courtesy and respect for authority as teachers are.
- Students using the cafeteria are, in general, expected to use common sense and respect for the rights of others. Students should:
- Return empty cans to garbage containers.
- Refrain from throwing food or fluids.
- Refrain from smoking.
- Refrain from moving the chairs from one table to another.
- Keep the noise level down.
- Place all garbage and trash in the garbage containers.
- Clean up spillage.
- Refrain from writing on furniture.
- Refrain from mishandling vending machines.
- In general, be considerate and keep the cafeteria as a place of neatness, beauty and dignity.
- Students not adhering to these general guidelines for acceptable behavior, being disruptive or abusing the privileges of the cafeteria will be removed and refused use of the cafeteria for an indefinite period of time.
